Retro-blogging fail. I forgot to add my post about Casual Connect Hamburg, Germany. 😦

February 10-12, 2010 was Casual Connect Hamburg. The excellent news (other than great meetings with wonderful partners and learning about new opportunities) was that the new Radisson Blu hotel had finished construction. My first trip to Ukraine was for Casual Connect Kyiv 2009, one of the annual game conferences hosted by the Casual Games Association (CGA). Our flight from Amsterdam was on a wobbly commuter plane bound for Kyiv Borispol Airport. According to the Airport’s Web site, Borispol offers an experience that is: 

much better than in most other cities of the Former Soviet Union. Customs is not pleasant but not too bad.

Why Kyiv?  There is a surprisingly large demographic of game developers located in Russia and Eastern Europe. Due to the restrictions on entering Russia (visa requirements), it is easier to host a global conference in Ukraine.
