June 25th marked my 9th completed half marathon in Brooks Adrenaline shoes! The Seattle Rock n Roll Half Marathon is a course I know well from previous runs. The course is a near-straight shot from Tukwila to Seattle. This time I ran with my friend Marnie. It was her first half marathon and she participated as a fundraiser for cancer research. The finish time was one of my slowest at 2:26:45, but it was worth it to run with a friend on her first race.

The course for 2012 will be a loop course in Seattle – a nice change!

May 29, 2011: On a weekend trip to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, we squeezed in the Coeur d’Alene Half Marathon – my 8th half marathon in awesome Brooks Adrenaline running shoes. The route was scenic, but due to my lack of training, the course seemed endlessly long. It was one of those runs in which mile 8 feels like mile 13. I knew it was going to be a rough one, so I saved myself the embarrassment and didn’t wear a timing chip. 🙂 It was a great way to see the town and enjoy a sunny morning, nonetheless. (more…)

November 28, 2010 marked my 7th official half marathon in my favorite Brooks Adrenaline running shoes. One thing was different about this one, though: I walked it instead of running. Other than hiking, I don’t think I’ve ever walked 13.1 miles. Despite not running, my legs were still tired afterward! (more…)

On September 24, I was off to Germany again. This time, the trip was for vacation with my German boyfriend. He has run 35 marathons and signed us up for the 2010 Real Berlin Marathon. I have never wanted to run a full marathon, but I figured that I should at least give it a try. I trained to 20 of the 26 miles. More training would have been ideal. We arrived on September 25 and the race was on September 26. The morning of the race, I put on my awesome Brooks Adrenaline running shoes and Brooks jacket, and we felt great — we woke up ready to win.

Half marathon #6 for me was the Super Jock ‘n Jill Half Marathon in Woodinville on September 6, 2010 (in Brooks Adrenaline shoes, of course!!). The takeaways from this race were the oversized neon green race shirts and that the time was kept incorrectly. (more…)

I ran my first-ever trail run on August 7, 2010 in a rockin’ pair of Brooks Adrenaline ASR trail shoes: The Grand Ridge Trail Run half marathon! It took me an hour more than my usual half marathon time. The terrain was very steep and hilly – and dirty. I was probably one of the slowest people (not having trained for a trail run!) at 3:08:00, but it was a fun adventure and good excuse to relax for the rest of the day. : )

On June 26, I completed my 4th half marathon in my favorite Brooks Adrenaline running shoes: Rock n Roll Seattle Half Marathon. This was my second time running the event. This time, I participated with Tiffany, Ryan, and Olaf (full marathon). I came in at a time of 2:01:54. Last year, I ran the event with my awesome buddy Eric (see photo). It’s a fun community event, but the bands and the post-run schwag have never been very impressive. :/
