June 25th marked my 9th completed half marathon in Brooks Adrenaline shoes! The Seattle Rock n Roll Half Marathon is a course I know well from previous runs. The course is a near-straight shot from Tukwila to Seattle. This time I ran with my friend Marnie. It was her first half marathon and she participated as a fundraiser for cancer research. The finish time was one of my slowest at 2:26:45, but it was worth it to run with a friend on her first race.

The course for 2012 will be a loop course in Seattle – a nice change!

My wonderful friend Ryan (see Brazil blog entry) happens to be the mascot for the Seattle Seahawks NFL team, and he happens to have Multiple Sclerosis. On April 11, 2010, he rounded up a huge group of more than 250 supporters to participate in the National MS Society’s annual “Walk MS,” as part of Team Blitz.

Team Blitz will reunite in 2011 for the next “Walk MS” at Husky Stadium at the University of Washington. Sign up here to participate or donate!
