My learning goals for Net-Centric Economics are surprisingly undefined. I am a heavily goal-oriented person and succeed the most when I have an outlined set of goals to strive for. However, what I am most hoping to gain from this course is quite simply a re-introduction to Economics and insights regarding the digital economy. As a student newly entering the program, I have a clean slate of expectations and am eager to learn.
Based on my undergraduate experience with Economics courses 11 years ago, I was apprehensive about enrolling in another Econ. class – and this time without my Business major friends sitting next to me. My lack of confidence in the subject matter is what convinced me register. What better way to overcome uncertainty and intimidation than to jump right in?
By the end of the term, I will view the class as a success if I meet the requirements, have an improved understanding of Economics and the technology sector, benefit from a strong mentor, create new relationships with peers, and have an idea if this is a field that I want to learn more about.
I look forward to the class challenging my thought process and being a fun experience. The discussion format for the course will hopefully allow for a lot of insights and ideas to flow from all students, creating an engaging program.
Christy, I think those are reasonable and pretty well-outlined goals. We’ll have some challenges in getting 17 folks to interact, but I have a few tricks that I hope will help.
